Not long ago I mentioned my idea of Tom Petty reconstituting Mudcrutch as a touring band with the ability to give the Tom Petty setlists we all deserve. I love Tom Petty very dearly, he's one of the greatest artists ever to live. And yet if he keeps playing the same old setlist next time he tours, I highly doubt I'll bother to go. He's got such a great collection, it's about time he shows it off.
Some would say Mudcrutch has to play Mudcrutch material. But The Heartbreakers don't just play Heartbreakers material. So why should Mudcrutch be any different?
Mudcrutch is imbued with the 'uncanny' ability to not play Free Fallin' every night. Here's my idea of a great Mudcrutch set.
